Pregnancy Acupuncture
Acupuncture is safe before, during, and after pregnancy.
During pregnancy, acupuncture helps both mama and baby.
For baby, it increases blood flow to uterus which promotes baby’s healthy development.
For mama, it helps treat body pain, fatigue, swelling, nausea/vomiting, low iron levels, and even helps turn breech babies. Of course, getting acupuncture while pregnant also helps with the stress, anxiety, and nervousness that can come with the changes pregnancy brings.
As you get closer to the end of the pregnancy, we start a ripening process that can make for an easier labor and delivery.
At Week 36, we start preparing for an optimal birth experience by treating twice/week as acupuncture gently supports your body to begin the progression of labor. It helps cervical ripening, relaxation of ligaments through the release of Relaxin Hormone, and oxytocin release to get those feel good chemicals going.
Continuing acupuncture during these final weeks helps boost energy, steady blood pressure and blood sugar, and reduce pain. Often times, mamas who get regular pregnancy acupuncture do not need to be induced because their bodies are already in optimal condition and the body’s knowledge just naturally takes over.
